Journal of discoveries #86 - 2nd of December, 2023
Welcome to the 86th issue of the newsletter, “Journal of discoveries.” Each week, I check a list of hundreds of sources of inspiration to spot exciting articles, videos, podcasts, and books on personal development, leadership, management, technology, and innovation.
Let’s dive in!
One “must” for this week
“The metaphor of the Stoic Archer”.
A quote from Seneca: “The beginnings are in our power; the results are judged by fortune, to which I grant no jurisdiction over myself”.
Just as the archer does everything to shoot accurately but cannot control external factors, the Stoic focuses on doing the right thing rather than worrying about the outcome.
We can find calm and happiness by focusing on what is within our control.
